Educational Garden

garden1.jpg
garden2.jpg

Learn about agriculture in the Maybury Farm Garden!

Our garden is used for summer farm camp and educational tours. Campers and visitors can learn about a variety of vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers. The garden also provides fresh snacks for our campers. Perhaps we’ll inspire a young gardener at home!

Maybury’s farm garden is continually evolving - this season, we’ll have a new garden layout and utilize new horticulture practices including crop rotation, resting places, natural integrated pest management (IPM) along with insect sanctuary spaces.

In addition to educating and providing snacks to campers, the farm is donating it's extra produce to community food banks. And remember, nothing goes to waste in our garden - anything not used for education, enjoyed by our campers or donated may be available for purchase in the General Store or becomes a healthy and delicious treat for our animals!

StoryTime

Wednesdays & Thursdays - May 27 - September 17, 2026

Starts at 11am

Children will have fun while learning about a unique farm topic each week through stories, songs, and sensory play. Special animal guests may also visit us at the end of StoryTime. Maybury Farm develops our story times based on the Every Child Ready to Read program which is a research-based early  literacy program, from the American Library Association. The Every Child Ready to Read program encourages parents to interact with their children using the five practices of early literacy: singing, talking, reading, writing, and playing. These five practices develop the components of early literacy, including phonological awareness, vocabulary, print awareness, letter knowledge, and background knowledge, which prepare children to learn to read and write in school.

Plan A Party

Maybury Farm is a wonderful setting for your child's birthday party, family get-together, corporate gathering or any other group event. We offer various party/group event packages. Bonfire rental is available.

The wagon ride, included in the party package admission price, is pulled by our tractor along the milled trails through the forest and fields and then back to the farm. The wagon holds approximately 24 people, so larger groups need to allow time for multiple trips. All riders must be seated. Children under the age of 2 must sit on a lap.

Full payment is due immediately to register your event and hold a date/time. Online registration is required. All payments are non-refundable.  The farm and barn is open rain, snow or shine - come dressed for the weather.  The barn will be open to provide some shelter to see the animals. Only in the rare instance that we have unsafe conditions will it close, which is the discretion of the farm only. Book your SUMMER or FALL Party online now!

PLEASE NOTE - private food trucks, caterers, stereos, gas/propane grills, live entertainment (face painters, magicians, balloon artists, bands, etc.) are prohibited. No alcohol is permitted at the farm. Rubber balloons are not allowed - they are a choking hazard for the animals. There is no electricity available in the pavilion. Smoking/vaping is not allowed on the farm. For the safety of our guests and animals, no dogs or other pets are allowed. No feeding of the animals. Your party is responsible for set-up and clean-up. Please exit the pavilion on time to ensure enough set up time for the next party.

Please see below for more details and review our FAQs. Please call (248) 374-0200 press 2 or email connie@mayburyfarm.org with questions about your online booking.

We look forward to hosting your group this season!
